Restoration is a delicate process. There is no predicting when a part may fail and throw a wrench into the entire project. This is a perfect example. The upper headset cup from this current Mongoose resto has an integrated cable stop for the rear brake that is imperative to the ACS rotor function. You can no longer buy this part. Without it, the whole job is incorrect. Welding a part like this is possible, but difficult and a bit unsightly because of the chrome plating on the part. (I am also not a highly skilled welder) BUT, a little flame and a bit of @the_gasflux_co 56% silver brazing alloy, and it's good to go. 🚨🚨!!BURGLARY!!🚨🚨 Just before 7 o'clock this morning, two degenerate turds burglarized our building, scared the shit out of the cats, and stole two very distinctive bicycles. The first photo is not an actual image of the intruders but rather just an image to hopefully get ya to stop scrolling. The only footage we were able to get was that of two humans of medium builds in black/dark hoodies and masks. One appeared to be a Caucasian male, and the other was non-identifiable. At any rate, the bicycles that were stolen are VERY identifiable. One was a Kona Woo fat bike, and the other one a recently built Gringo road bike. I've had this one under my hat for some time now. After a bunch of hemmin' and hawwin', I finally settled on how I wanted to button it up. Most of my builds to date have been outfitted with components that are of the upper echelon of the industry, making the build cost greater than most cycling enthusiasts would typically entertain for themselves. This is why I settled on the modest build group for this beauty. The Shimano Sora Groupset and Tektro Brakes are a perfect fit. The DT Swiss Rims, Shimano 105 hubs, and Kenda Valkerie Pro 700x28mm tires roll smooth and fast. Dedaccai Zero Uno steel was the choice for this fillet brazed roadie. All in all, it is a classic road build that I hope will find a home with someone who will love it as much as I loved building it. 53cm square frame. Rider size 5'5"-5'8ish. On display @blazing_saddle_cycle $2000 USD

BACK TO LIFE! These are the before and after photos of the restoration I teased last week on our storyline. It's not every day that you see a Raleigh built Huffy. The Raleigh Co. was contracted to build bikes for countless other companies during the 50s, 60s, and 70s. I was inclined to restore this bike in particular because of the Huffy Co.'s ties to Ohio, and also because it was kindly donated by its original owner who received it as a gift for her First Communion in 1962! After getting a closer look at it and realizing that it was essentially completely original, right down to the tubes, I couldn't leave it be. It really cleaned up beautifully. It took a good deal of time and elbow grease, but I will guarantee that it rides as great, if not better, than it did on that first ride in 1962. If you have a sentimental bike waiting to be reborn, now is the time. I can have it ready to pedal by the time the weather breaks. Hope everyone is staying warm. -Cheers!

I got so dang excited about the conversion on this 80s Lotus that I forgot to take a legit -before- pic prior to sprinklin' the "city spice" all over it. Needless to say, this thing is BITCHIN! You would spend thousands trying to replicate the ride of this bike in something new off a showroom floor today. Quality lugged steel just hits different. As excited as I am to get it back to its rightful owner, I wouldn't mind keepin it for myself.

Bicycle repair means something a bit different to me. I'm happy to provide all the basic maintenance, tune-up, and restorative services that you can get at most all bike shops. However, frame & fork fabrication and repair is a service you won't typically find at your local shop. Saving a bike from its ultimate demise is something I am proud to be able to offer. Uniquely shaped humans require uniquely shaped bicycles. Daniel came to in with a TALL order.(6'7" tall, to be exact) His request was a comfortable, lightweight and efficient bicycle that was capable of speed and moderate road distances while toting his gear. Bonus points for a cool classic bike vibe......This is what we came up with. Constructed upon an 80's Japanese built Bianchi frameset, this rig turned out spectacular! After a couple of detailed conversations and test fittings, this ride was dialed! I look forward to Daniel's feedback after he's able to log some miles on this beautiful, one-of-a-kind machine.
